BELKIN ABOUT TO GET ALL THE WIRES OFF YOUR DESK
David Jones and I saw a sweet little device at last January's Consumer Electronics Show that is only just coming out - Belkin's wireless USB hub. The device allows you to plug all your peripherals requiring a USB connection in to this wireless hub. You then plug a little transmitter dongle - hate that term - into the USB port on your laptop and - voila! - you're in business. No more wires going everywhere on your desktop and no need for a docking station (unless you're using it to plug into something like a monitor or keyboard (though even those can connect wirelessly to your laptop. Aside from ending the clutter, I'll be happy to be able to be able to work on my laptop from away from my desk and still be able to print and have access to my external portable hard drive as well as my PDA without having to actually have all of those devices plugged in. The Belkin hub retails for $199 - a little pricey for a USB hub, but worth it in my opinion.
